What was the inspiration behind coming up with the idea of flower jewellery?

S.K: Floral Jewelry -the concept has been around for a while now. But yes it has been trending in Indian weddings since 5-6 years approx. We at Floral Art have made it trendier. Brides generally are wearing heavy real jewelry for other functions. Mehendi/Haldi being informal events in today’s times, so Brides take the freedom and choose floral jewelry for functions like these…

What are the coolest trends in flower jewellery for bride?

S.K: So we design all kinds of floral jewelry using fresh, dry, maang tikkas, artificial flowers and gota. Indo-western combinations are quite trending. The brides are choosing pretty maang tikka… going all out with just big chokers and their off shoulder matching outfits. We accessorise the floral jewelry with stones, motifs, pearls too, to match certain bridal outfits. Nowadays the Brides also discuss the details with their hair and makeup stylist to customise their hair accessories.

How do you make sure that the floral jewelry lasts for a couple of hours? Any specific preparation that you do?

S.K: So the fresh floral jewelry is delivered wrapped in a banana leaf in a box. Once delivered to the client it needs to be kept safely in an AC room or refrigerator till the bride needs to wear it.

What are some specific type of flowers that you experiment with?

S.K: So for the traditional look we go for fresh rose petals and tagar kali. And for the western look, we use orchids, button daisy, gypsophila, wax flowers etc

Any suggestions for brides who want to explore this trend?

S.K: All the Brides who are getting married in India, or them fresh flowers are a great option, as we air courier all over India. And the NRI Brides I would suggest dry and gota jewelry options. And we customize every set as per the the requirements of a bride, so each set is unique in its own way.
